The Rooted in Remembrance Ring was created in honor of my grandfather, Donald Logan, who died by suicide in 2018, just nine days after his 65th birthday.
He lived with schizophrenia for 35 years, but I remember so much more than his mental health or the way he died. I remember his love of fishing, being by the water, a cold Coke, and making us laugh.
I created Rooted in Remembrance to honor his life and help create the conversations, resources, support, and spaces I wish had existed for him.
The semicolon (;) represents a pause, not an ending. It reminds us that your story can continue.
